Got an initial quote over the phone to replace a blower motor + resistor and clean AC system in car, got approved for financing, then when I called to ask if they would let me bring my own parts in, Mario was quite rude to me and seemed offended that I even asked. Would have been okay with "no", and would have still brought the car in, but this mechanic got mad simply over a customer asking for some idea upfront of how much a repair is going to cost, and asking if I could bring my own parts (to save both our time too, not just money). Didn't honor the original price quote either, and tried to throw in a diagnostic fee even though the issue is simple and already diagnosed. Take your business to people who will honor their word.
Hi Joan, I'm very sorry to hear about your experience and would like to offer my apologies. I spoke with Mario about the situation, and I think we could have communicated our policies and procedures to you in a more effective way. We would certainly install your parts on the car, but we typically don't recommend going that route mainly for the warranty. Parts we supply come with an industry standard 24 month/24k mile warranty for both parts AND labor, meaning that if that blower motor or resistor fails in that timeframe you'd be 100% covered, whereas if you supply your own parts, not only do you have to figure out how to get another part, but you also have to pay us to figure out the problem and replace it a second time. We can also move forward with self diagnosed repairs, but we discourage it because we have no way to guarantee it will fix your problem and in our experience that can lead to a poor experience where a customer pays for a repair that doesn't fix the problem. I think your poor experience comes down to poor communication on Mario's part, please accept my apology. If you decide you'd like us to install your parts, let me know and I'll get you scheduled. -Jubal
